Cookie Policy

This site keeps cookies and similar local storage to a minimum, and doesn't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Essential (no consent required)

• Clerk session cookies — only set once you sign in to the client portal, needed to keep you signed in.
• A local-storage flag for the "Homelab mode" easter egg toggle — no tracking value, purely a UI preference.
• A local-storage device identifier for the support bot — a random ID (not linked to your identity unless you're signed in) used to enforce rate limits and abuse blocking. Generated once you accept the bot's chat consent notice.
• A local-storage flag recording that you've accepted the support bot's consent notice, so you're not asked again on every visit.

Optional

If privacy-friendly analytics (Plausible or Umami) are enabled, they run without cookies or cross-site identifiers and don't require consent under UK PECR — no personal data leaves your browser in a way that identifies you.

Third parties

Stripe (payments) and Clerk (auth) may set their own cookies when their embedded components are active on a page you're using — see their respective policies. Neither is used for advertising.

Managing cookies & local storage

You can clear cookies and local storage at any time from your browser settings — this will sign you out of the client portal, reset the "Homelab mode" toggle, and generate a new device identifier for the support bot (which resets any active rate limit or block on that browser). Blocking essential cookies entirely will prevent the client portal from working.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the site changes — the "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
